A Bay Area resident for over 30 years, Susan Barnes is Principal of Barnes & Company. Barnes has over 20 years of experience in public affairs, public relations and media.
Educated at the University of California, Irvine (UCI), Barnes earned two B.A. degrees in Political Science and Psychology and was elected President of the Associated Students of UCI. In 1989, Barnes was selected to represent the UC System and the United States on the first student peace exchange with the Soviet Union set up by President Reagan during the 1988 Summit.
Prior to founding Barnes & Company in 1999, Susan Barnes worked in politics, land use and nonprofits based in the Bay Area including serving as an aide to former Marin County Supervisor Cynthia Murray, and the Late Assemblyman Bill Filante, M.D.
Susan Barnes serves on Boards of Directors and is a member of numerous community organizations. Current and past affiliations are listed to the left.
